To Prosper you and not to Harm you: Janice Kent

Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Hi my name is Janice Kent.

I was baptised seven years ago in the year 2000. It was the best decision of my life! Praise God. Before coming to Christ my life was pretty messed up. I had made some un savoury choices due to my deep painful feeling of rejection; of never hearing the words “I love you” from my parents and also experiencing sexual abuse at such a young age.

When I began to study the bible, two particular scriptures stood out or me Jeremiah 29:11.”For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the LORD, “plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future” and Isaiah 41:9-10 This scripture brought tears to my eyes as for the first time I felt loved; Gods amazing love for me. I was hooked! Amen!

Unfortunately when the fall of the ICOC happened four years ago, I began to witness many disciples loosing their zeal for God and each other. Mainly due to unforgiving hearts. I eventually became lukewarm and feeling insecure and anxious again. I began to look for other places to worship God due to my discouragement.

God lead me to 1 Samuel 12:16 “Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes.” I began to feel excited as I desperately wanted to be with other disciples who were on fire for God. Shortly after, I was invited by an ex ICOC brother to the newly planted London International Christian Church and I knew from that first visit God had answered my prayers. I was welcomed with open arms by the awesome brothers and sisters there. Especially Eugenie and Deirdre who humbly and gently lead me into the restoration studies. On February 18 2007 I was restored! Amen! Since then we are holding two separate bible talks one in the home which God has blessed me with. Amen!
